Jay-Z & Kanye West Settle Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Over ‘The Joy’

Jay Z is being hit again with a lawsuit, this time with Kanye West over a copyright infringement on their bonus track on the Watch The Throne album The Joy.

The duo have now settled with veteran soul singer Syl Johnson, who sued them in October for using a sample of his song Different Strokes without authorisation.

Pete Rock who produced the track was also not happy as the sample was added on after he had finished producing it, and was not told about it. He took to Twitter afterwards to clear his name…

“just to clear the air about WTT,i never sampled that syl johnson record,if u sample syl u gotta show him sum respect and clear the sample.”

Jay Z is still facing a lawsuit for his track Big Pimpin by the nephew of Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdy over the rights to the hook which they claim he sampled.

Azealia Banks Responds To T.I. For Defending Iggy Azalea

T.I went on DJ Drama’s show on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 to introduce his new Grand Hustle team Iggy Azalea, Chip (Chipmunk), and D.O.P.E. Iggy spoke on her Australian roots, the rap scene in her home country and her being placed on the XXL Freshman cover. She then mentioned Azealia Banks comments towards her on Twitter, such as questioning why she was placed on the XXL cover and Iggy’s use of the term ‘slave master’ in her lyrics. Iggy tried to keep the peace and did not say anything bad about Azealia just preaching support.

T.I though did not hold back, he said,

“Strategically if she really cares about a freshmen cover maybe she could hope that, you know, she’ll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshmen cover comes back around, maybe she’ll still be a freshman. Which brings me to my next philosophy, if you spend half of your day getting money and the other half of your day counting money, you ain’t got no time in your day to worry about nobody else.”

Azealia heard about the interview shortly afterwards and took to Twitter again this time showing her anger toward T.I. defending his new signee saying…

Tyler, the Creator Grabbed By The Neck & Thrown Off The Stage At A Gucci Mane Performance

Tyler, the Creator was forcibly removed by Gucci Mane’s security team when he tried to come on the stage during Gucci Mane’s performance.

Tyler, the Creator gatecrashed Gucci Mane’s performance at the  G-Shock release party for The Hundreds and Casio’s collaborative watch. The Atlanta rapper’s security team acted quickly grabbing Tyler by the throat and removing him from the stage.

This didn’t seem to phase Tyler, as he later returned to the stage, diving off it into the crowd. It seems Gucci Mane didn’t mind Tyler’s antics as they had a picture together afterwards seen above.

Birdman Explains Signing Limp Bizkit To Cash Money

Birdman explains the reason behind signing rap-rock band Limp Bizkit.

“Fred [Durst] reached out, bruh,” Birdman said in an interview with XXLmag.com. “It was weird how it happened. He was like, ‘Stunna, what’s good?’ I was like, ‘What’s poppin, 5?’ [Fred said] ‘I wanna join the team.’ Whoa! For real? He didn’t have to say it twice. I was already a fan of him. When the opportunity came, we really was supposed to announce it at the Grammys. Wayne was going to announce it at the Grammys, but he did it when he felt like it.”

Birdman also added that the groups first single will be out next week and will feature Lil Wayne.

“He’s a visionary, he a great artist,” Birdman said of Durst. “Also, I want him to be a part of our staff and take over the rock department and bring us over more talent because that’s what he does. I think with having Limp he brings a lot.”
