Pixies Tracks Of The Week @TheCocoUK @MajorB2DAL @RATLIN @chaseandstatus @Novelist @Wretch32 @WilkinsonUK

Coco ft. AJ Tracey & Nadia Rose – Big N Serious Remix

Sheffield Grime MC Coco’s latest track “Big N Serious” has been creating waves on the radio, online and on the TV for months now. The track has now been giving an official remix with two of Grime’s newest and hottest MC’s AJ Tracey and Nadia Rose also jumping on the track to add their magic. The levels of lyricism on this track are mental, and the three MC’s discuss everything from fakes, snakes, to mums.

Milli Major ft. Doctor – Merking

Bloodline representative Milli Major is back with an exciting new video “Merking” with a feature from Doctor. Milli destroys the track like a don does with his innate vocals and lyrics over a thumping 140 riddim. Doctor switches things up bringing a Dancehall vibe to the hook and immediately launches into a verse too.

Ratlin ft. Ayo Beatz – Never Doubt

Ratlin is back on his A-game with this brand new one “Never Doubt”. He brings in Ayo Beatz for the auto-tuned hook. This one sees Ratlin reaching for the sky for this inspiring track where he talks money, power and respect. We see Ratlin driving around in a very nice white Mercedes in the visuals and shots with his friends too. We should be seeing a lot more from the West London rapper who has been a little quiet lately.

Chase & Status ft. Novelist – NRG

Chase & Status have brought us some of the biggest anthems and after their latest London Bars series, with one of their tracks ft. Novelist “Bigger Man Sound”, they have joined forces again with him for brand new one “NRG”. Opening with a Prodigy sound, the track then launches into a bass fuelled, synth driven track, with Novelist showering it down with his bars.

Wilkinson And Wretch 32 – Flatline

After hearing the audio to this track already, we now have the energetic and fun visuals to match Wilkinson and Wretch 32’s joint track for “Flatline”. What a banger!

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @JammerBBK @RaxOfficial @OfficialChip @Official6ix7 @OfficialGiggs @Wretch32 @officialAvelino

Jammer – Sun City

Jammer is really bringing the heat this year already with a remix of Riton’s ‘Rinse & Repeat’ and now his own track ‘Sun City’, a nod to the UKG rave of the same name. It’s definitely going to be a future classic, especially in the rave scene. With My Nu Leng & Chase & Status on the production credits, Jammer murks the beat with 140bpm mastery and laces the beat with his party vibe bars. Let the video take you back to the old skool era of raving when the dress code was Moschino.

Rax ft. Josh Osho – Four Seasons

Rax’s new EP ‘Just 4 You’ which was released for free on Friday will let you get to know the South London rapper again, slowly easing you in. After the release of ‘The Pickpocket’ in 2012 Rax took a hiatus from the scene, but is back stronger than before musically. His new visual to ‘Four Seasons’ premiered on Friday and will warm you up on these winter days and nights. It has enchanting vocals from Josh Osho and is packed with vivid emotion and expressive lyricism. It has a hip hop and jazz influences including a sunny saxophone.

Chip – ‘BlukuByeByeBye’

If you have Chip’s EP ‘Hear Dis’ you would know about this track already as it’s taken from there. It shows Chip’s non defeatist energy, as he takes a break from the musical beef with Yungen, releasing the video to ‘BlukuByeByeBye’. The video shows footage taken from a set at Radar Radio with some other very well known MC’s such as D Double E and Novelist in it, and really captures the energy and passion of Grime music.

67 ft. Giggs – Let’s Lurk

67 are a UK rap group from South London that includes members LD, Dimzy, Monkey & Asap. Their new track ‘Let’s Lurk’ is dark and threatening with a looming feel to it, whilst the video shot at night is pretty much the same with a menacing feel with some of the members cladded with masks. Giggs, the Godfather of UK rap steps up to deliver a hot verse on the track and boy is it good. The track is trappy, drawing influences from the Chicago rap scene.

Wretch 32 & Avelino – Gift To You

Wretch 32 and Avelino dropped their joint collaborative mixtape in December ‘Young Fire Old Flame’ which popped off becoming a fast favourite for last year. The journey continues though as they release the third visual from the mixtape ‘Gift To You’ ft. Moelogo. Over a laid-back beat, they both show their lyrical wordplay with the visuals showing the footage from their recent live show at Proud in Camden.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @DynamiteMC @MsBanks94 @idriselba @Wretch32 @JCLARKE_GHETTS @RudeKidMusic

Dynamite MC – Choices

Dynamite MC is a master of ceremonies, one that  Drum & Bass and Jungle lovers are familiar with, as he is one of the most prominent voices. On the 4th of December his album World Of Dynamite is being released and it comes with some classic bangers and some unheard material too, spanning Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, Breaks and Garage with production from some of the best including Roni Size, High Contrast, Wookie, DJ Zinc, Andy C, Zed Bias, Danny Byrd and more showcasing his musical legacy. ‘Choices’ a Wookie produced cut off the album premiered on Complex UK, it was originally released in the noughties and has been reworked for a fresh take in 2015.

Ms Banks – Hallelujah

Ms Banks has a confession to make in her new track “Halleujah” and that’s thanking God for exposing the fake people, and allowing her to see the light when it comes to people’s true colours. Now she’s all about the money and is grateful for that. The video has captured the essence of the track with it being filmed in a church, showing Ms Banks at the pulpit and shots of a choir. She’s made a strong name for herself this year; so next year should see big things!

Idris Elba – Murdah Loves John ft. Wretch 32 & Tanika

As Idris Elba returns for the 4th series of ‘Luther’ on BBC One next month, he will also be releasing an album in light of the loved fictional character. ‘Murdah Loves John’ the title track was premiered on Annie Mac’s show on Radio 1 this week. It comes with strong, shadowy lyrics from Wretch 32 and beautiful, grandiose vocals from Tanika. The track definitely has a Bond theme tune feel to it, with the dramatic production, building you up waiting for something to happen.

Ghetts x Rude Kid – One Take

This is the first video to drop from East London MC Ghetts & producer Rude Kids’ project #SixFiveThree which was released last week on iTunes. The visuals include footage from their launch party and you can spot some familiar faces such as Giggs, Tinchy Stryder, Griminal and more. The production samples a number of Grime tracks; Wileys’ “Igloo”, Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Hoe’ and Section Boyz “Lock Arrrf”, with double time, high energy bars from Ghetts.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @SectionBoyz @LayZ_Music @AR15UK @NeroUK @KingPMoney

Naughty Boy ft. Section Boyz – 140 Man At Ya Door

Section Boyz profile has been rising fast this year, so it was no surprise that prolific producer Naughty Boy, best known for his tracks with Emeli Sande, has got them in the studio for them to work their magic on one of his beats. “140 Man At Ya Door” shows off Section’s unique flows on this gritty production.

Lay Z ft JME & Frisco – That’s What I’m On

North London MC and Boy Better Know affiliate Lay Z delivers a new tracks with an old school Grime feel. Joined by two members of BBK Frisco and JME on a Teddy Music production, the three MC’s all bring their own distinctive lyrical qualities, bars and content, with a memorable, catchy hook. This will easily be a future grime classic.

AR15 Presents Wretch 32, Devlin, Rebecca Garton & Swiss – Helpless

AR15 drop the 3rd track off their exciting forthcoming mixtape AR15 Presents Concrete Jungle. This one features rappers Wretch 32, Devlin, and Swiss from So Solid with solid, sweet vocals from Rebecca Garton with the track based on them describing their tough road to success and how it wasn’t easy for them to get to where they are now.

Nero – Two Minds

Nero continue to show us their diversity with this brand new track, the fourth cut to be heard from their forthcoming album Between II Worlds where they explore the house territory. The vocals from Alana are beautiful and are really powerful on this track, sitting nicely with the piano hook, thunderous bass and coarse synths. The album is out on August 28 so if you like what your hearing stay tuned for that.

P Money – Roll Up ft Saf One, Deadly & Blacks

Ahead of his mixtape release Money Over Everyone 2 which is a sequel to the first groundbreaking one, where afterwards he became one of the most sought after MC’s, P Money drops a fresh new video “Roll Up”. This brings two of the UK’s strongest Grime crews together OGz with P Money and Blacks and StayFresh’s Saf One and Deadly. Footsie takes care of the production on this intense Grime track, where all the MC’s bring their strongest bars.‘Money Over Everyone 2′ is out now on iTunes.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @EdSheeran @Kreptplaydirty @konanplaydirty @JMEBBK @OfficialChip @Modestep

Ed Sheeran – Photograph

Ed Sheeran drops the video to “Photograph” off his most recent album X. Known for his different and creative videos, this one takes us through his past to present with clips from home videos of his life. The video matches the song perfectly, and also shows Ed playing instruments which is especially cool as we get to see him as a youth in his element.

Krept & Konan – Freak Of The Week ft. Jeremih

Krept & Konan are due to drop their album The Long Way Home in two months and this is the second track to be heard off of the new project after “Certified”. “Freak Of The Week” sees them collaborate with American singer Jeremiah over a DJ Mustard and ADP beat. The two South London rappers bring the heat in what will definitely be a summer banger.

JME ft. Giggs – Man Don’t Care

BBK’s JME released his brand new album Integrity which hit a very commendable no.12 on this weeks official album charts. The “Shut Your Mouth” MC released a video the same day as the album for the monster track “Man Don’t Care” featuring UK rap God Giggs and produced by well known grime producer Swift Beater. JME is as cheeky and witty as ever with his bars which he shows off impressively on this tune.

Chip – Feeling Myself ft. Kano & Wretch 32

Chip was given a challenge from KFC as part of their new campaign #PackedMoreIntoLunch where they are encouraging people to use an hour of their day in a productive way. He took new single “Feeling Myself” off his brand new EP Believe & Achieve – Episode 1 to shoot, edit and put out this music video in an hour and this was the result.

Modestep – Machines

Last but not least, Modestep the electronic/rock group two weeks before their album is released have dropped the video to “Machines” with zombie eyes and a very dark video to match the track. Their album London Road features Big Narstie, Flowdan, Frisco, Lay-Z, Discarda and production from the likes of Funtcase and Trolley Snatcha.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @MajorB2DAL @Prez_T @pabbywabby @Wretch32 @Stormzy1 @ClubsandSpades1 @mrbennybanks @JoeBlackUK @Young_Spray @officialchip

Milli Major ft Prez T & Paper Pabs– Shut Down The Dance

‘Shut Down The Dance’ is like a hardcore grime rave tune and it will do what it says in the title when played in a rave/club! This is from Bloodline representative’s Milli Major, Prez T & Paper Pabs who are royalty in the Grime scene. This will be on Milli Major’s forthcoming EP ‘Bloods Thicker Than Water’ set for release 31st May and sees the finest talent on it from D Double E to Flirta D and producers such as Rude Kid and True Tiger.

The Stray Doggz ft Wretch 32 & Stormzy – Skank Out

To be honest I’d never heard of this producer duo before I got sent this track through and this is their debut single ‘Skank Out’ featuring two highly respected artists Wretch 32 & Stormzy. With the ‘woofs’ on the hook incorporated into the lyrics and two of the sickest MC’s at the moment on it, this trap led tune can only mean one thing, a straight up banger! It’s aggression and honesty makes me love it even more..

Clubs & Spades – Deal Or No Deal

‘Deal Or No Deal’ is the first track taken from newcomers Clubs & Spades forthcoming EP of the same name. They may be newcomers as a collective, but make no mistake each of them have been in the music game and had great careers in it already. They blend hip hop, punk and funk where the two producers use live instruments along with the MC’s rapping in their Northern accents which creates a unique sound. This track talks real life issues…

Benny Banks & Joe Black – Know Me From (remix)

Covering Stormzy’s hit track ‘Know Me From’, North London’s Benny Banks and Joe Black who have been in the rap game for quite some time now put their spin on it. They tackle the track with such finesse it’s like it was one of their own! They both are slick lyricists so we expect nothing but fire from them. The two have a joint mixtape dropping soon, which will show definitely bring a lot of heat to the music game this summer.

Young Spray ft Wretch 32 & Chip – Proud

North London MC’s Young Spray, Wretch 32 and Chip join together for new track ‘Proud’ which is a introspective track of how they grew up. It’s shows Wretch & Young Spray’s journey as they spit while Chip handles the hook, where they look back at their hard lives growing up, where they are at now and what it took to get there. It’s personable, heartfelt and deep and the kind of rap I like.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @OfficialChip @NewhamGenerals @CadellOfficial @IsaiahDreads @Scrufizzer @Saskilla @DJCameo

All my tracks seem to be Grime ones this week, and I can assure you they are all worthy to be included. From the cheeky ‘Feeling Myself’ to war track ‘Hotline’ and feel good one ‘Foolish’ this is why I can say safely say all Grime isn’t the same, so don’t put it in a box again!

Chip ft Kano & Wretch 32– Feeling Myself

I have to start with this one ‘Feeling Myself’ from Chip as it’s a proper feel good, funky track that is a production you would associate more with a hip hop tune than a Grime one, but it sure sounds good. It features quick witted, sizzling and cheeky bars from Kano and Wretch 32 as the three show different can be good. This will be on Chip’s forthcoming EP ‘Believe & Achieve – Episode 1’ out on May 4th.

Newham Generals – Soundboi Killa

The Newham Generals have done it again with this future classic ‘Soundboi Killa’ produced by the bass don Toddla T. When you hear these three names you know it can only mean one thing…it’s Grime, with reggae influences, plenty of bass with computer game sounds. The best duo in Grime kill it and control the mic like the dons they are. Their EP ‘N To The Gs’ will be out very soon too!

Cadell – Hotline

Woahhhhh so it’s sending season, and Cadell really caught my attention with this one I had to add it as one of my tracks of the week. The East London MC goes in for a whole host of MC’s such as Stormzy, Maxsta, Jammer, Elf Kid, Stelf, Mez and more in this one shot taken video called ‘Hotline’. Mez has sent a reply which I’ve put the video to called ‘#64 Bars Of Air Pie’.

Isaiah Dreads ft C4 – Foolish

Let’s take it back now to some more bouncy, happier vibes with the 17-year old Grime MC from Dorset Isaiah Dreads. We heard the track on Soundcloud which seems to have gained co-signs from DJ’s Target, Cameo, Phil Taggart, Huw Stevens, Mistajam and more who have all pressed play on it. Produced by the go-to producer Preditah and featuring his brother C4, this is a more uplifting, melodic track showing off Isaiah’s fast paced flow.

Gunplay ft Rick Ross & Scrufizzer, Saskilla and Maxsta – Aiight

Last but certainly not least, a US to UK remix here with Gunplay ft Rick Ross’ track ‘Aiight’ being given a Grime remix with three very hard lyricists Scrufizzer, Saskilla and Maxsta all going in over the remix which Darq E Freaker provided for them. S/O DJ Cameo for putting this one together, I look forward to seeing more of this from them.

Pixie’s Tracks Of The Week @kreptplaydirty @konanplaydirty @MrBigzOfficial @Wretch32 @delibricks @BladeMusic @lilnastyuk @MajorB2DAL@FlashyShalo

I’m not going to talk about the Grime beef going on between Chip, Skepta, Devilman, Saskilla, Big Narstie and now Shizz as I’m sure you can find out enough online if you’re interested. Lets keep it to what it’s about my favourite tracks of the past week with all the best in UK only rap & grime.

Krept & Konan ft Rick Ross – Certified

Well these two rappers are certainly creating history again and shot to the Top 5 in the album charts with just the news of their album release alone. After that they dropped the track to one of their most excitable collaborations with the Maybach Music boss Rick Ross and it is a ‘Certified’ banger with Ross bringing the heat too. ‘The Long Way Home’ album is due July 6th.

Mr Bigz ft Wretch 32 – Finer Taste

Mr Bigz is a UK rap veteran and last Summer he dropped his ‘S.U.M.M.E.R’ EP with some soulful, classic hip hop tracks. Last week saw him release the video to one of the favorable tracks off it ‘Finer Taste’ featuring Wretch 32, and it seems the two rappers bring the best out in each other in this Nas sampled track.

Deli Bricks ft Blade Brown – Deadlines

As Deli Bricks mixtape ‘Finnesin’ is coming up for realise on April 12th as a free download on GRM Daily, he keeps the momentum flowing releasing the 2nd visual to another collaborative track, this time featuring one of UK raps hardest lyricists Blade Brown. A mixture of flows and bars from the two makes for a heavy combination of truthful storytelling on this trap beat.

Lil Nasty ft Nasty Jack, Milli Major and Sgt Elz – F You Remix

‘F You’ remix video dropped shot by Grimes legendary Risky Roads and featuring Nasty Jack, Milli Major and Sgt Elz. This looks set to be the beginning of Lil Nasty’s new A.M.O Nation imprint and perhaps an EP or mixtape on the way. The 4 MC’s go in, each spitting a verse on this high energy Grime track with a nostalgic shot video.

Shalo – Running From Myself

Shalo is a artist signed to Alwayz Recordings and who has previously released music alongside Chip, Double S, Yellows and more. He is spiritual and this track sees him paint a vivid picture with deep and real life situations that many can relate too. It features some beautiful vocals too, cementing the emotional song more. This will be on his forthcoming EP ‘The White Room’.

January 22, 2015

Lady Lykez (@LadyLykez) – Nobody Can [Audio + Music Video]

The scene definitely needed a shake up and Lady Lykez has certainly caused a commotion with Nobody Can a track about being boxed in as a ‘female’ MC category and taking shots at males in the scene saying she can do what they can and do it better from Wretch 32 to Stormzy, P Money, Big Narstie and more. I hope one of them are brave enough to speak up…

October 14, 2014

Wretch 32 (@Wretch32) – 6 Words [Music Video]

Wretch 32 premiered his brand new music video today via Digital Spy. 6 Words is produced by SOS and mixed by Wilkinson and sees Wretch singing, a departure from what we normally see from the Tottenham artist over a light Drum & Bass beat. The track will be on his forthcoming album which is set to be released early next year.
