Androuet (@AndrouetLondon) [Food Review]

Winter is made for restaurants like Androuet where the food is deliciously warming and hearty. Set in the hustle of Old Spitafields Market, the crux of this restaurant is gourmet cheese and it has the best selection this side of Paris. They have been making and maturing cheese since 1909 in Paris, and since then have seven shops in Paris and one in Stockholm and now their first London establishment.

The décor is stylish in both the shop and restaurant with an old French brassiere feel in the sweet little restaurant. It’s got a romantic feel to it and the blur of shoppers passing by, along with patrons in the shop and the twinkling lights from the market adds to the charm. The chef is situated in the outside part of the restaurant and makes your mouth water whilst your waiting, and the aromas of cheese just make the waiting even sweeter.

Take a seat at the restaurant for lunch or dinner and you will discover the delightful menu of cheese, meats and homemade pasta. You can also stop by to share a cheese or charcuterie board with a beautifully selected fine wine with waiters on hand to help you choose if you need it. If your lucky enough to work or live nearby they also serve toasted cheese baguettes with a variety of filling such as the Alphine which has a raclette, saucisson, pesto and quiche filling,

We decided to go for the Androuet classic fondue, which consists of an 18-month old Comte, and Emmental Grand Cru served bubbling of course in a cauldron lit with candles. It comes served with a baguette sliced up to miniature bites to dip into the cheese, and as extras we added Charcuterie and Baby Potatoes to accompany the bread. It was a delicious combination, and the fondue was thick, creamy and smooth. It was cheese heaven.

To have a bit of variety we also ordered the Gnocchi home-made of course with a wild mushroom and ricotta filling and choose out of three sauce options the blue cheese sauce. The Gnocchi was light and as you bit into it the filling burst open allowing the goodness within to reach your taste buds, and boy did it taste good. The blue cheese sauce fit the dish with excellence and I wouldn’t pick any other accompaniment. Drinking wine with cheese is a pretty much must as well, and the selection here has been picked with care.

This really is for cheese lovers only, where classic dishes such as raclette comes alive in the heart of East London. It’s dreamy, it’s quaint and you can snack or have a full meal, as well as shop their range of home-made cheeses, meats and wines. You may not want to look at cheese for a day or two after though. Visit Androuet for a Parisian voyage.

His latest mixtape Breakdown Rebuild dropped in Summer, and last week saw the official video to “1000 Bitches” be released ft. Dream McLean.

Fekky – Stop It

Whilst Fekky was in Paris performing, he decided to make his time there useful and shoot his latest video to track “Stop It”, produced by Slic Vic. Two days after he shot the video, the Paris terror attacks took place, so he has dedicated this video to the people who lost their lives. The track is off his recently released mixtape Brandy & Coke and sees the ever confident Fekky in various parts of Paris including by the Eiffel Tower with an appearance from Skepta.

Ruff Sqwad – That’s How We Are

If you know Grime, then you will know who Ruff Sqwad are. The East London crew are key figures in scene responsible for some classic instrumentals, tracks and bars. They dropped the audio to “That’s How We Are” back in September and now have put out the visuals to match, with Rapid, Roachee and Fuda Guy are spitting over a nostalgic beat.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @TheCocoUK @Jammz @TRIGGASDC @DynamiteMC @Sneakbo @realmostack @REAL_JSPADES @FekkyOfficial @KingPMoney

Coco ft Jammz, Terminator & Trigga | Big Bou Yah Remix

The original for this track was big and now Coco drops the remix video on SBTV ft. Jammz, Terminator and Trigga. The momentum building for Coco is huge for him as an artist and this track where it’s on the B List at 1Xtra and is one of the best remixes of the year! Toddla T has pulled it out the bag on the remix and got in some of the UK’s hardest lyricists. Annie Mac has also named Coco as a ‘Hot For 2016’!

Dynamite MC – Ride (Dillinja VIP)

Dynamite and Dillinja bring us the VIP version of ‘Ride’ which was first released in 2004, and is sounding crisp and brand new for 2015. Premiered on Drum & Bass Arena’s site ‘Ride (Dillinja VIP)’ is sounding meatier and full of twists and turns and a naughty bassline.   Dynamite MC took to the Drum & Bass Arena Awards this month to take the Best MC title for the second year in a row and also released his solid 30-track album of heard and unheard tracks with productions from some giants in the game such as Zed Bias, Andy C, Zinc, High Contrast, Danny Byrd and more. The most well-known MC in the Drum & Bass scene is back with a fury!

Sneakbo ft. Mostack & J Spades – Right Now

Sneakbo freshens up his ‘Right Now’ track which he originally dropped on his Soundcloud back in September, enlisting another two talented MC’s Mostack and J Spades who provide a verse each. Sneakbo has kept the fire dropping all year and remained consistent and this track is no different. Mostack and J Spades add special flavour to the track giving it extra zing to make it a hit.

Fekky – Up

As we’re all waiting patiently for Fekky to drop his ‘El Classico’ debut album, he’s helped us out along the way with a brand new surprise project ‘Brandy & Coke’ which can be streamed on Soundcloud. Last week he also dropped the visuals to The Heavytrackerz produced cut ‘Up’ which has kind of quenched our thirst for the meantime. The ghostly beat and video match each other perfectly and shows off Fekky’s trappy lyrics.

P Money 10/10

P Money work’s with Sir Spyro once again for another cut which is a certified banger. ‘10/10’ is a hyped track from P, with the visuals shot at Eskimo Dance with some Grime A Lister’s such as Footsie, D Double E and Kano.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @BigFris @iamShakka @merkyACE @CADELLOFFICIAL @StickyBloodUK @TheCocoUK @JusRival @Jammz

Frisco ft Shakka – Different Kind

This isn’t the first time Frisco and Shakka have collaborated, at the beginning of this year Frisco dropped a verse on Shakka’s “Rollin With Elephants”, and he has in turn come on board for Frisco’s “Different Kind”. This track sees Frisco take an unexpected turn as he spits over a rock beat, whilst Shakka brings the fluid gold to the hook. Take a listen to “Different Kind” below, we’re sure you will be impressed.

Merky Ace x Cadell – Alive

Tizzy Gangs Merky Ace and Cadell drop the brand new black & white visuals to track “Alive”. It’s a good track to end the year on, as they both are reflective and talk about how to be valued and appreciated whilst they are here. The lyrics and visuals come across quite chilling, and the track is a definite for our tracks of the week.

Sticky Blood ft. Coco & Snowy – One Bar In

Production duo Sticky Blood show a gritty, futuristic side to their producing skills on “One Bar In”. They are joined by two of the hottest MCs from the North of England, Sheffield’s Coco who Annie Mac has named on her ‘Hot For 2016′ list and is playlisted on Kiss 100, 1Xtra, AKA and Flava TV with his single, and Nottingham MC Snowy who has gained a lot of attention this year too. Both were named on Complex’s ’15 Grime MC’s Outside Of London That You Need To Know Today’ list.

Rival ft. Blay – Alright

East London MC Rival released his latest EP ‘Eat Biscuits’ in October, named after his love for biscuits. This week saw the video for one of the tracks come out ft. Blay who also produced the track. The video and track is dark and sinister, reflecting on people that act like something they’re not and give it the big talk.

AJ Tracey ft Jammz – Bare Girls

Both AJ Tracey and Jammz are names you need to pay attention too as they are set for big things. “Bare Girls” is taken from AJ Tracey’s highly anticipated Alex Moran EP which dropped on Friday. The track shows love to the girls which is quite rare in Grime, especially when it’s in a positive way. The track is produced by Jammz too, and shows why the two are the hottest prospects for Grime.
