Pixies Tracks Of The Week @Footsie @izziegibbs @KingPMoney @SCRUFIZZER @AJFromTheLane

Footsie – My Team

Footsie dedicates a track to his team. Produced by OGTaxx of American production team 808 Mafia, Footsie spits some hard bars over a trap lead beat, lighting a spliff for the people who keep it real with him.

Izzie Gibbs – Bare Talk On Road

Izzie Gibbs hits us with a brand new video ‘Bare Talk On Road’ taken from his ‘Jutsu’ EP. We see him step out a barber shop where Big Narstie is waiting to go in. The Northampton MC delivers a message with his fierce flow.

P Money ft. JME & Wiley – Gunfingers

Three of some of Grime’s best lyricists unite for ‘Gunfingers’. P Money, JME and Wiley all throw down bars in a tribute to gunfingers, a signal done in a rave to show appreciation for the track. The track produced by Skepta has an old-skool vibe to it, and is taken from P Money’s forthcoming album ‘Live & Direct’.

Scrufizzer X Aubrey Whyte – Out & Bad

Scrufizzer switches it up for his new one with actor Aubrey White, where he gets rawer than usual for ‘Out & Bad’. Scrufizzer flows over a hard-hitting, dark beat with a heavy bassline, with his trademark adlibs present too.

AJ Tracey – Buster Cannon

One of Grime’s hottest prospects AJ Tracey drops the cinematic visuals shot in Japan to the lead single from his forthcoming EP ‘Lil Tracey’ released in December. Produced by Canada’s Tre Mission this super powered beat fits perfectly with AJ’s fast flow and dextrous wordplay.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @A2artist @OfficialCCane @RayBLK_ @UncleMez @JusRival

A2 – Prototype

A2 drops a heavy new track titled ‘Prototype’ sampling Andre 300 for this, but giving it his own take. With components of funk and soul, the South Londoner drops some intelligent and witty bars. Now signed to Disturbing London, he will be releasing his highly anticipated ‘Blue’ project this Summer too, we can’t wait to hear that.

C Cane – My Team ft. Scrufizzer, Izzie Gibbs & Zeph Ellis

North London rapper C Cane is joined by some wicked Grime spitters who drop hot bars over a FGM beat. C Cane provides the hook and the first verse, with Scrufizzer jumping in next, then to Izzie and Zeph Ellis who unfortunately does not feature in the video. These 4 together make for a big tune!

Ray BLK ft. Stormzy – My Hood

This one is for the South Londoner’s who will fully be able to relate to Ray BLK’s new one ‘My Hood,’ as she explores the relationship between herself and her neighbourhood.

“This track is an ode to where I’m from, It’s a bittersweet song about home. South East is one of the roughest places in London but it rears the strongest people because of that and that’s what makes us special.’ explains RAY BLK. The tracks features Grime heavy-weight Stormzy who is also from South London.

Uncle Mez – Ghetts Spirit

Nottingham Grime MC Uncle Mez goes hard in his new track ‘Ghetts’ Spirit,’ an ode to one of Grime’s hardest; Ghetts. He really channels the essence of Ghetts’ as he spits with such passion and fierceness over a boisterous Deeco produced beat. Mez is putting out a lot of heat and is one to watch out for as he continues to keep rising.

Rival – Portrait Of The Underclass Intro

East London Grime MC Rival is due to drop his highly anticipated album ‘Portrait Of The Underclass’ on May 27th. He gives us an insight of what to expect with the intro to the album. We enter hearing a beautifully arranged live band instrumental with blues influences as Josh Bevan gives us the vocals. It then goes into a Grime instrumental produced by Rynsaman, as Rival takes us through a biopic journey of some of his life.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @ChaseandStatus @BigFris @Skrapzisback @CraigDavid @bignarstie @Bonkaz @scrufizzer

Chase & Status ft. Frisco – Funny

After announcing their London Bars series which will be released on their label MTA Records, Chase & Status dropped the first track from the series titled “Funny” featuring Boy Better Know’s Frisco. The beat is grimy and Frisco spits fluidly over it. At the end of the video we see Giggs calling the producers, is this them showing us he’s next? It’s a warm up for their fourth studio album, and will see some of the UK’s best MCs working with them on the project.

Skrapz – They Ain’t Ready

Church Road-rapper Skrapz has been doing his thing for a while dropping mixtapes such as “’80s Baby” and “Skrapz Is Back”. He’s warming us up with this brand new track “They Aint Ready” which is on his mixtape out November 13th “The End Of The Beginning” and will see features for high-profile rappers such as Wretch 32, Giggs and his Ice City Boyz comrade Nines.

Craig David x Big Narstie – When The Bassline Drops

Kurupt FM seemed to have kindled a musical bond between Craig David and Big Narstie when they went on 1Xtra for their Sixty Minutes Live session. The two clearly hit it off and went straight into the studio to record a track together. Their both legends in their own right in different areas of dance music and their new tune “When The Bassline Drops” is an absolute banger. It’s got an old skool garage vibe filled with Craig’s smooth vocals and Narstie’s heavy lyricism.

Bonkaz – You Don’t Know

Bonkaz relives the Grime culture he grew up in on his new track “You Don’t Know, sampling one of Grime’s most influential MC’s Dizzee Rascal’s track “Bonkaz”. He pays homage to Kano, More Fire Crew and Channel U amongst others. The video shows a more fun and light-hearted side to the Croydon-born MC and he couldn’t have picked a better-named tune to sample!

Scrufizzer – Rapid Freestyle

Scrufizzer is one of Grime’s fastest flowing lyricist and is impeccable at it. He takes on Rapid’s instrumental to drop nothing but hard bars, repping his ends West London too.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @OfficialChip @NewhamGenerals @CadellOfficial @IsaiahDreads @Scrufizzer @Saskilla @DJCameo

All my tracks seem to be Grime ones this week, and I can assure you they are all worthy to be included. From the cheeky ‘Feeling Myself’ to war track ‘Hotline’ and feel good one ‘Foolish’ this is why I can say safely say all Grime isn’t the same, so don’t put it in a box again!

Chip ft Kano & Wretch 32– Feeling Myself

I have to start with this one ‘Feeling Myself’ from Chip as it’s a proper feel good, funky track that is a production you would associate more with a hip hop tune than a Grime one, but it sure sounds good. It features quick witted, sizzling and cheeky bars from Kano and Wretch 32 as the three show different can be good. This will be on Chip’s forthcoming EP ‘Believe & Achieve – Episode 1’ out on May 4th.

Newham Generals – Soundboi Killa

The Newham Generals have done it again with this future classic ‘Soundboi Killa’ produced by the bass don Toddla T. When you hear these three names you know it can only mean one thing…it’s Grime, with reggae influences, plenty of bass with computer game sounds. The best duo in Grime kill it and control the mic like the dons they are. Their EP ‘N To The Gs’ will be out very soon too!

Cadell – Hotline

Woahhhhh so it’s sending season, and Cadell really caught my attention with this one I had to add it as one of my tracks of the week. The East London MC goes in for a whole host of MC’s such as Stormzy, Maxsta, Jammer, Elf Kid, Stelf, Mez and more in this one shot taken video called ‘Hotline’. Mez has sent a reply which I’ve put the video to called ‘#64 Bars Of Air Pie’.

Isaiah Dreads ft C4 – Foolish

Let’s take it back now to some more bouncy, happier vibes with the 17-year old Grime MC from Dorset Isaiah Dreads. We heard the track on Soundcloud which seems to have gained co-signs from DJ’s Target, Cameo, Phil Taggart, Huw Stevens, Mistajam and more who have all pressed play on it. Produced by the go-to producer Preditah and featuring his brother C4, this is a more uplifting, melodic track showing off Isaiah’s fast paced flow.

Gunplay ft Rick Ross & Scrufizzer, Saskilla and Maxsta – Aiight

Last but certainly not least, a US to UK remix here with Gunplay ft Rick Ross’ track ‘Aiight’ being given a Grime remix with three very hard lyricists Scrufizzer, Saskilla and Maxsta all going in over the remix which Darq E Freaker provided for them. S/O DJ Cameo for putting this one together, I look forward to seeing more of this from them.

Zed Bias (@Zed_Bias) feat. Stylo G (@StyloG) and Scrufizzer (@SCRUFIZZER) – Shizam [Music Video]

Zed Bias has come up with a brand new clever track mixing grime with dancehall for Shizam with Scrufizzer on MC duties and Stylo G giving it that extra flavour. The rhythm is rather skatty and it’s definitely going in a new direction which is something that has to be praised.

MTV The Wrap Up: UK Rap Rundown [News]

2014 has begun with a bang in the world of UK rap. Firstly lets begin with Krept & Konan whose show we attended at 02 Islington Academy on December 28 and featured guests included ChipYungenG FrSH and Sneakbo who performed ‘Jetski Wave’, Gracious Kthe ‘Migraine Skank’ and Wretch 32 ‘Traktor’ for us. The crowd went absolutely mental especially for ‘Lord Forgive Me’, ‘M.D.M.A’ and ‘Don’t Waste My Time’.

At the end we were treated to the first listen of the official ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ remix featuring Chip, Fekky, Wretch 32, French Montana and Chinx DrugzThe audio is now out now and has got a wicked response, with French also putting another remix with Lil Durk on his ‘Coke Boys 4’ mixtape which is amazing for a US artist to take a UK track and cover it also keeping the hook the same. This will help the guys get recognition out in the US and 2014 should be bigger for them than 2013. (They were also on 1Xtra’s Hot for 2014 list).

Yesterday another remix dropped of ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ this was from Play Dirty member Yungen and Play Hard’s Sneakbo. Yungen spits, “Krept and Kon didn’t bother put me on the remix, won’t catch me bitching cuz their my n****’s.”

Two South London native’s Sho Shallow and Ard Adz have really got off to a good start this year dropping their new mixtape ‘Salute Me Or Shoot Me 2’ which is 20 tracks deep and include features from Goldie 1Jaja SozeWholagun and STP with production from Ayo BeatzHT BeatsWesty Beats and more. Before the tape dropped they also released a video off there, ‘Laugh Out Loud’, warming everyone up for it.

Young Adz is one I’ve been keeping an eye on for some time as he is very talented and I think has a bright future. Last year hip-hop legend Jadakiss also noticed him and signed him to D Block Europe. Young Adz has begun the year in the right way and that’s dropping some new material in the form of new video ‘#HellaThings’ and hopefully he has lots more lined up for us.

DVS took to channel PressPlay to announce that he has moved the date back only by just over a week for his new mixtape ‘London Boy American Dreaming’ to January 13. He also revealed the track listing which has some big collaborations and got me quite excited, they include Ard Adz, Sho Shallow, Sneakbo, Youngs Teflon, Wretch 32, Young Spray, Krept & Konan, SqueeksJoe Black, G FrSH, J Spades and more. Although dropping at the beginning of the year this may be one of the best 2014 has to offer, we’ve got to wait a whole year to see!

Three of the STP team from South London also dropped a banger for us last week. This street track titled ‘Heaven Or Hell’ refixed Luniz ‘I Got Five On It’. With Mitch and Timbo handling the verses and Cass the hook they definitely did the song justice.

I also want to shout out Scrufizzer who over the last week has delivered two songs on his Soundcloud. He really deserves to do well as his consistency and quality of work has always remained solid. He released a preview just over a minute long of perhaps his next single produced by Preditah ‘Flow Don-Don’, which sounds great. He also put out a more mellow full track ‘No Need 2 Rush’ with a West Coast vibe on the production and sees him talking about love.
