Diggy Simmons Explains Reason Behind J. Cole Diss

Diggy Simmons explains the reason behind the J Cole diss on his recent leaked tracked What You Say To Me. In an interview with US radio station 99.1 FM, he claims he recorded the song after J Cole falsely claimed he had relations with his sister Vanessa on his track Purple Rain. Diggy claimed that the song was over a year old, but he felt the need to defend his family, and that the track wasn’t leaked by anyone in his camp.

“[There’s] no big story behind it, it was really just that my sister [Vanessa] over a year ago told me that [J. Cole] was saying that he did this, that and third with her, ‘cus the went to the same college [St. John’s], but they didn’t really know each other like that, so it wasn’t like that,” he said. “She also told me that he subliminally talked about her in a song called ‘Purple Rain,’ which was also false. So it was just me sticking up for my family, that’s all that it really was. I didn’t even leak it, it got leaked last night while I was at the movies…I did that record last year…I was gonna put it out, but I didn’t feel like it was appropriate, but of course, that’s my sister…family over everything. [My dad Reverend Run] had already heard the track and he was like the same thing: ‘Family over everything, that’s your sister,’ so he wasn’t mad at all.”

T.I. – Love This Life

T.I. drops the first single Love This Life off his 8th studio album set for release this summer. T.I. explained what the single was about in an interview with XXL last week saying…

“It’s speaking to woman, but from a man’s perspective. People who find themselves in a situation where the woman might say she wants to part ways with the man, but the man [is] like, ‘Let’s be sensible about this. You gonna leave all this? And go where?’ That’s what he is sayin’, the gentleman is sayin’. I know there’s a lot of guys out there who find themselves in positions on all levels of life, not just as a rich man, but you have people who treat a woman the way she wants to be treated,” he continued. “There aren’t a lot of men out there who can offer that same kind of security, affection and protection; that will be kind of the song.”

De La Soul’s Plug 1 & Plug 2 Album – ‘First Serve’ & Single ‘We Made It

It’s funky, it’s hip-hop, it’s disco and its classic. De La Soul’s Plug 1 & Plug 2 present ‘First Serve;’ a dynamic hip-hop group, an album, a concept.

First Serve is man things, but at its heart it is the story of two young boys from Queens, New York in the late 1990’s with big dreams and larger rhymes. It follows two friends, Deen Whitter (aka Plug 2 / Dave) and Jacob ‘Pop Life’ Barrow (aka Plug 1 / Pos), throught their struggles in a basement  to start their musical career and the battles they face after years of laying demos and mixtapes on the hustle in the hip hop game.

But all the hard work has finally paid off – Jacob and Deen have hit the big time signing to Goon Time Records, and quickly enjoying their first hit with the bouncy orchestral flourish of ‘Must Be The Music.’

The story plays out from the ‘Opening Credits,’ through to the tracks like the funky euphoric ‘We Made It,‘ following Deen and Jacob’s original success, through the darkly hung break up ode of ‘Clash Symphony,’ to their eventual, tender reunion on the irresistible ‘Tennis‘ -with some of De La’s most irrepressible rhymes in years and a succession of hilarious skits. The pair find themselves “bound together with a handshake, not a contract.”
