Pixies Tracks Of The Week @BossmanBirdie @RudimentalUk @REAL_JSPADES @AbelMiller @TheBugzyMalone

Bossman Birdie ft. Meridian Dan & Skepta – Wristbands

A couple members of the Bloodline crew, Bossman Birdie and Meridian Dan as well as Skepta from Boy Better Know come together for “Wristbands”. Growing up on Meridian Walk all together and being part of one crew previously, it’s no surprise to see these three working together. The track is about their status as artists, being able to access all areas and about respect and loyalty.

Rudimental ft. Anne-Marie & Dizzee Rascal – Love Ain’t Just A Word

Rudimental have been giving festival-goers tasters of what to expect from their new forthcoming album We The Generation especially with this new track “Love Ain’t Just A Word”. It features the lovely vocals of Anne-Marie and a verse from grime legend Dizzee Rascal who talks about the love in music, people, our maker and more.

J Spades ft. Mostack , Swift, J Hus & Grizzy – Nobody

When it comes to UK rap, J Spades is one of the hardest and respected straight out of Hackney. As an older sometimes you have to help the younger generation, and this is what he has done bringing together some of the hottest names that are coming up in the game right now; Mostack, Swift (Section Boyz), J Hus & Grizzy. This will be on his forthcoming release MMMP3.

Abel Miller ft J Spades – Angel Blues

UK R&B singer Abel Miller has already built a solid fanbase and reputation for himself even though he is still young in the game; he has been releasing strong material for a few years now. He premiered his brand new club single “Angel Blues” earlier this week for our enjoyment, showing off his vocal talents and bringing in J Spades for a feature. This is the second single to be heard off his forthcoming EP Patience.

Bugzy Malone – Hulk Smash

Bugzy Malone has been smashing it recently, gaining more and more fans all over the country with his hard bars and real lyrics. The Mancunian rapper delivers again oh his “Hulk Smash” freestyle over a Z Dot production giving us his thoughts on the music scene, delivering the bars with such passion and fierceness. His Walk With Me EP is due out on July 24 and he has a headline show at Islington 02 this week too!

Live Review: V Festival [Hylands Park]

V Festival is a combination of good music, good people and good vibes and I headed down to the Hylands Park site (Essex) on Saturday afternoon for the two-day festival. Arriving in the afternoon we then had to head to the campsite and do the fun part – putting up the tent. Skip to two hours later and we were back at the car enjoying a cold drink before making our way inside…

DJ Fresh showed Essex how to have a good time when he played the Arena Stage with singer Fleur providing the vocals. Everywhere I turned there was a moshpit for this set and everyone seemed to really be having a brilliant time.

Beyonce headlined Saturday night in Chelmsford where I caught the last half of her set, which was enough to see the superstar do her thing with her new blond bob and a combination of sexy outfits – including a sequin purple leotard and a white top with black sequin embellishment and white trousers. She performed ‘Crazy In Love’ ‘Singles Ladies’ and closed on my favourite track ‘Halo’ to rapturous applause.

Sunday was a better line up for me personally and because I stayed the night I was there bright and early to catch as much as I could. I started off my day backstage chilling, enjoying a bit of Jason Mraz who sung the old but good track ‘I’m Yours’.

I then headed off to catch the London boys Rudimental who as always put on an amazing set. DJ Locksmith kept the crowd energy high all through the performance. Their performances of ‘Not Giving In’, ‘Free’ ‘Waiting All Night and ‘Feel The Love’ were all amazing, but my favourite part was after their performance of Fugees ‘Ready Or Not’ – they did a mix going into drum n bass and then one of their tracks.

Kendrick Lemar has had controversy surrounding him at the moment and his performance on Sunday on the 4 Music Stage proved why he is one of the best rappers at the moment. He worked the crowd, interacting with them to get more and more of a better response and delivered dark and soulful tracks such as ‘B***h Don’t Kill My Vibe’, ‘Compton’ and ‘Money Trees’.

Emeli Sande left shudders running through me as I watched her (I’m ashamed to say for the first time) on the Main Stage where she blew me away opening with ‘Heaven’ and moving onto a personal favourite of hers ‘My Kinda Love’. Naughty Boy also joined her on stage playing the piano for ‘Wonder’ and ‘Lifted’.

Returning the favour to Naughty Boy, she came on his set halfway through to perform to us ‘Lifted’ again and a new track called ‘Pluto’ that we will be seeing on his forthcoming album ‘Hotel Cabana’.

Yungen also performed a rather soulful track which we should also expect to see on the album along with the hit record ‘La La La’.

HTC & Rudimental Join For The Intimate Launch Of The New HTC Desire C

On Monday 25th June 2012, HTC joined with Rudimental the chart topping electro band to host an exclusive gig inspired by the authentic sound experience people can enjoy on the new HTC Desire C

The electro band played hits including their number one single, Feel The Love, to the intimate 100-strong audience in London’s acoustic hotspot, The Old Vic Tunnels.

Alongside Rudimental were Blond-ish and a superb magician Von Majik, who performed tricks to us leaving us in a state of awe and confusion at the same time.

The venue picked Old Vic Tunnels was chosen because of the sound quality in it, which was meant to give us all an idea of the sound quality of the HTC Desire and to give users an idea of what to expect from the handset.

Speaking at the event, Rudimental said; “With electro music, there is nothing more important than a top quality audio experience – which is why we particularly love performing at the Old Vic Tunnel; the sound quality is second to none. We’ve loved using the HTC Desire C as it provides brilliant quality sound – you almost feel as though the artist is performing in front of you. This gig was a great chance to celebrate the importance of top notch sound with a brilliant audience.”

A must-have for those who crave superior sound quality, the exclusive Beats Audio technology included in the HTC Desire C delivers crystal clear audio quality. What’s more, its fast photo and file sharing features mean that friends and social networks can always be kept up to date in just a few strokes of the touchpad.
