30 Records were teasing us yesterday on Twitter saying there will be a new addition to the label. At midday they announced,
“brand new addition to the 360 family – @exoUSG !!!”
Exo has recently been nominated for Best Male at the Official Mixtape Awards, proving 2011 was a big year for him releasing two mixtapes The Power Of The Pound, and The Appointment, also receiving a mention at MTV’s Best of the Best Mc’s 2011.
Now 360 Records an independent but strong and influential record label have been quick to sign Exo this year. He is the second member of the USG camp to be signed, notably the first was K Koke signed to Roc Nation.
He has already created a strong buzz on the underground circuit, with many powerful industry players talking about him. I wish him all the best and congratulations!
Puffy is already one of the richest men in hip hop. This is not stopping him from making even more money this year, as he plans to launch a new music TV channel on December 12th 2012 called Revolt.
He already has Bad Boy Records, a clothing line, a vodka brand, the list could go on with regards to his business ventures, but he doesn’t want to stop there.
Revolt will be (of course) a music channel with music videos (similar to MTV). It has been reported that it will be distributed by Comcast and Time Warner Cable.
The 10-6 best UK MC’s were announced a few days ago for 2011. Last night on MTV Base the last 5 were revealed by Joseph JP Patterson, Charlie Sloth, Posty, Morgan Keyz, Nardene Scott and Hyper Frank. Here is the full list…
10. DVS & Blade
9. Krept & Konan
8. Skepta
7. Lowkey
6. Ghetts
5. Giggs
4. Chip (Chipmunk)
3. Professor Green
2. K. Koke 1.Wretch 32
Well done to Wretch who fully deserves the No.1 spot, and K Koke who is one of my favourite artists who made the No.2 spot. The other 8 were also well deserved and all of them have worked incredibly hard. In my opinion I would have put Joe Black, Mic Righteous, Benny Banks and P Money in there, but this is always a hard one to think of only ten top MC’s so big up to the panel for making the hard decisions.
What do you think of the list, and was there anyone crucial you think was missing?
If you missed Eskimo Dance last Saturday 14th January you definitely did miss out. BBK, Roll Deep, OG’z, Ghetts, Merky Ace, Kozzie, Flirta D, and Rival all smashed up the dance with DJ’s Cheeky, JJ, Maximum, Slimzee, Spyro and Hatcha. Wiley and DJ Cheeky tweeted today that it will make a return to Proud 2 on 11th May, so put the date in your diary now!
Wiley tweeted today, “The next eskimo dance is may 11th dont forget ….”
Cheeky confirmed the venue would be Proud 2 tweeting, ” Eskimo Dance May 11th Proud2.”
The former Murder Inc. rapper Charli Baltimore went on Power 105.1 to speak to Cherry Martinez about her upcoming film Gangs of Roses 2, which also features Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, and her upcoming album release in April. Biggie’s former girlfriend was then asked about the Notorious film, in which she replied that she hasn’t seen it and then explained the reasons why.
“I didn’t want to watch it and I didn’t feel like – nothing negative against anybody who was involved with the movie as far as the production of it – I just feel a certain way about who and what people should do [with] a B.I.G. movie. I know people who were in his day-to-day, everyday life. I was pretty vocal about that. This is just my opinion, no need for anybody to get their panties in a bunch, but the only people to me who could have shot an accurate descriptive portrayal of real life were Damion Butler, who is D-Roc, [Lil’] Cease and maybe Money L. And a guy named Seeth, who used to be around. But out of those four, definitely D-Roc, definitely Cease.”
“I don’t think anybody else could do an accurate portrayal of Big. The only reason I say that, and no disrespect to his mom, but she just wasn’t around everyday. People grow up. The way you present yourself to your parents when you see them on holidays or whatever, that’s not really how you are everyday. If your parents are coming over, you’re cleaning the house, you’re making everything situated. You’re going to kind of be on guard. These were people that were around him good times, bad times, whatever times. That’s just how I looked at it.”
Dj Whoo Kid stopped off at Thisis50, to talk about joining G Unit as the resident DJ, and his ‘love’ smack he received off 50 Cent. He recalls the amount of times 50 has sacked him from his position as his DJ too. Whoo Kid also talks about the time when Eminem and his camp wanted him killed…
“The first DJ got stabbed and left town, went to Tennessee or somewhere,” Whoo Kid said, describing how he became a part of G-Unit. “I think it was during that studio situation where the lights got cut off. It was a deejay that got stabbed. When 50’s mixtape came out, they had the tour schedule. They just needed a deejay but at that time, they weren’t interviewing anybody. The trust issue was crazy. So, I was put into G-Unit as the deejay.”
“It’s up to 48 [times being fired] now,” he said. “I don’t mind getting fired because I guess he’s so used to doing it so much that he gotta keep firing me. You could go on YouTube and see all the countries I got fired from.”
Whoo Kid then talks about 50 Cent smacking random people and himself.
“I didn’t want to fuck up with 50 on stage because during those days, he was ruthless. He was smacking everybody. He was smacking people per day. He was smacking everybody on the bus. If he had nothing to talk about or to do, he would smack random people on the bus. That’s why I stayed in the front with the fucking bus driver.”
“He loves me so it’s like a love smack. But the new niggas was gettin’ wrecked.”
On Eminem
“Along time ago, I leaked an Eminem joint by mistake and they wanted to kill me,” he shared.

We always knew that any child of the power couple Jay Z and Beyonce would be as famous if not more as the couple. The not even a week old Blue Ivy Carter has broken a record already as the youngest person to enter the chart on Billboard.
The song Glory entered the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Charts at No.74 this weekend. The song which credits Blue Ivy Carter as B.I.C features her first moments into the world after birth as we hear her cries. She is the youngest person to reach the Billboard charts only 48 hours after birth. It is also a double achievement as it is the highest new entry on the chart this week, and B.I.C having a chart hit under her belt already.
