Ed Sheeran (@EdSheeran) – Don’t (Remix ft. Rick Ross) [Audio]

Rick Ross handles the remix for Ed Sheeran‘s track Don’t which sees the Maybach Music rapper come in at the beginning of the track with a verse, spitting over the acoustic driven track which is very different to his normal style. Not sure about this one…

Ed Sheeran – Multiply Ed Showcase at Koko [Review]

Ed Sheeran was certainly a busy man over this bank holiday weekend as he showcased us some tracks from his album ‘X’. 3 days and 3 cities was the theme for the ‘Multiply Ed’ gigs where he went from Ipwsich to London to Dublin doing half an hour to an hour and then 2 hour sets, literally dashing off stage at each to get to the next one.

Not wanting the crowd to feel shy and uneasy he began with a favourite among many ‘You Need Me’ which was a pretty long version and lasted nearly ten minutes with Ed showcasing his rapping skills too.

He lead into track ‘Don’t from the new album ‘X’ which was showcased in April on Saturday Night Live, and said to be about a cheating, famous, female.

Before going into ‘Lego House’ he announced he would be playing old and new material so everyone would feel comfortable and could join in with what they new. Very thoughtful of him.

The mood went quite somber as Ed asked people to be quiet for ‘Tenerife Sea’ a new one on the album, and another love song. Instead of cheating this one is about how in love he is and was inspired by someone after going to the Grammys.

‘One’ was another new one off his forthcoming album and a fresh one on people’s mind as he released a black and white acoustic video of the song last week as part of a campaign the Suffolk born singer is doing, releasing an acoustic video a week in the lead up to the album.

Other tracks included the more lively ‘Drunk’ which was another fan favourite and one most people knew the words too and the moving ‘A-Team’ where a fan fainted near the front and he sang to the audience asking for security to help the person. He ended on single ‘Sing’ another recent release, produced by Pharrell and asking the audience to sing all the way home, and when they wake up in the morning.

I love how Ed Sheeran is a one-man show, with just himself, his guitar and now a looper pedal, which worked fantastically well for him at this show, and really showed how dedicated he is to make his shows purely about his amazing talent. There are not many people that could captivate crowds that big with just themselves.

Devlin – Watchtower ft. Ed Sheeran

Devlin releases his new single, (All Along The)Watchtower (featuring Ed Sheeran), through Island Records on the 19th August 2012. It is the first single to be taken from his forthcoming second album, ‘A Moving Picture’, out 29th October.

His acerbic verse is at the forefront of (All Along The) Watchtower, a colossal rock track produced by Labrinth and featuring Ed Sheeran singing the chorus of Bob Dylan’s ‘All Along The Watchtower’ at its core. The video features appearances by Jaime Winstone (Made in Dagenham/Kidulthood), Neil Maskell (Nil By Mouth/Atonement), Tilly Vosburgh (Vera Drake/Awakening), and George Russo (Turnout/Tony) in a cinematic thriller with Devlin and Ed Sheeran in the lead roles.

Capital FM Summertime Ball Review

Capital FM the first national hit music radio station announced their 2012 Capital FM Summertime Ball with some of the biggest artists from the UK and US. Shireen from Flavour was in attendance backstage to catch up with the likes of Usher, Conor Maynard, Cover Drive and Dizzee Rascal and to watch performances from Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and many more. The shows opening act was the magnificent Coldplay.

I went outside to catch one of my favourite r&b singers Usher. The last time I saw him in concert was when I was about 12 years old. He hasn’t lost his touch, his dance moves were on point, and he hit the high notes when singing ‘Climax’ and ‘Scream’.  My favourite moment was when he performed ‘Let It Burn’, with two big flames behind him, and strangely enough they did burn with one of the flames setting the stage on fire, causing someone to rush out with a fire extinguisher.

The two summer sizzler’s really were sizzling. The first surprise was Dizzee Rascal who performed his latest track ‘Power’, and we were glad to see a grime legend amongst the pop acts. Cheryl Cole was the other surprise guest after Dizzee dressed in a skintight lycra playsuit, she looked pretty amazing. It must be hard work getting into one of those, but later she told us that she goes to the gym saying her favourite workout song was, “Katy Perry, ‘Wide Awake’”.

Ed Sheeran was another highlight of the night; he was overwhelmed as he announced it was the biggest crowd he had performed too. Unlike everyone else, he walked out just him and his guitar. Singing ‘A Team’, ‘Small Bump’, and more everyone was singing along to this incredible talent.

When Justin Bieber came on I had to hold my hands over my ears as the 80,000 strong crowd started to scream all at once. He came out looking very patriotic dressed in a union jack t-shirt and doing some pretty good dance moves.  Serenading a girl for a rendition of ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ he had her in fits of tears. His songs ‘Baby’ and ‘Boyfriend’, sent the crowd insane, with girls holding up signs dotted all over the arena, it was clear to see who a lot of the people were there for.

Katie Perry closed the show dressed in 50’s style polka dots singing ‘Part Of Me’, ‘The One That Got Away’.  It was a good night for pop music, and the atmosphere in Wembley Arena was one of the best I’ve witnessed.
