Dave heads from Boomburger in London, to a plush house overlooking rolling hills in Beverly Hills for his new video ‘Tequila’. Produced by Fraser T Smith and 169, the track opens with a Spanish sounding guitar riff, and when the beat kicks in Dave takes control and begins to flow about women.
Chip ft. 67 – Honestly
Chip is getting fans excited for his forthcoming album ‘A League Of My Own 2’ by dropping the second visual from their titled ‘Honestly’. Produced by Canadian artist Tre Mission and featuring Brixton Hill Crew 67, the track seems totally organic and natural. The new material Chip is dropping shows how is having fun with his music, but also his maturity.
Faze Miyake ft. Reeko Squeeze & Capo Lee – Chase The Money
Faze Miyake has released one of the video’s off of his latest project ‘Infamous’. The producer lays down a hard, ominous trap beat, paving the way for South London’s Reeko Squeeze and North London’s Capo Lee to trade verses about money.
Tanika – Kingston 13
Tanika is back with the visuals to ‘Kingston 13’ taken from her forthcoming EP release ‘Birthdays In Jamaica’ with the material being written and recorded in Jamaica. This is a sexy, sultry one from the British singer who is seen in some shots with her man, changing her hair from blonde to pink.
J Fresh ft. Koder – Special Powers
Taken from his ‘Banana’ EP, J Fresh unleashes the video to ‘Special Powers’ featuring South London Grime emcee Koder. J Fresh provides the raw grime vibes on production, whilst Koder goes in vigorously on the verses before mellowing on the hook.
Reeko Squeeze released his long-awaited visuals for ‘Diablo’ (featuring Donae’O). The collaboration was featured on Reeko’s St8 Authentic mixtape, which was released last July, but now we’re treated to the video. Filmed in what looks like a part of Central London, the two artists connect in a straight up authentic way, with Reeko spraying some hard bars whilst Donae’O brings a catchy hook. Reeko Squeeze’s work rate is impressive, and if he keeps it up there could be big things ahead for him.
C Biz – Fresh Out & The Buzz (Ecstasy)
It was only last week that C Biz was released from prison after being cleared of murder at the Old Baily, and it certainly didn’t take him long to start dropping some fresh tunes – coming back stronger than ever. His first release dropped a day after being released, so it was clear music had been on his mind during his incarceration. ‘Fresh Out’ – produced by Jay Youngs – touches on his life, winning, and addressing the accusations made against him.
The second track released, ‘The Buzz’, comes harder with a vengeful, sinister sounding production, produced again by Jay Youngs and Mazza Beats. C Biz is talking real life issues on this one, with some heavy-duty lyrics. He takes us through his struggle and what’s been going on with his situation in both of these tracks. Listen below.
Tremz – No Fame 2
Tremz kickstarted the year with a follow-up to his summer track, ‘No Fame’, with ‘No Fame 2’. Tremz provides an anthemic, catchy track, especially on the chorus. Tremz talks about his nan kicking him out, ex-girlfriends and more: Tremz is set to release a lot more music this year, with a project titled Lifestyle Of A Pirate out at the end of February.
Clue x Geko – Cold Outside
Last year, we mentioned rapper Clue quite a bit in this column, and now he’s back with a welcome collaboration with Manchester-born artist Geko for ‘Cold Outside’. The ghostly, sinister production matches the lyrics from the two artists, who gel together well. Geko opens the track with a memorable, Afrobeats style hook: “Nike leather gloves cuz it’s cold outside, something on my face cuz it’s cold outside.” South West London rapper Clue then comes in dropping some straight fire with his deadly, heated lyrics: “Chrome sumthing big toy, did it on my own I’m a big boy, I won’t take no disrespect I’m a big boy, I was outkast feeling like big boy.” It’s definitely one that will bang in the streets.
Blittz – U Know Seh
Walthamstow rapper Blittz also drops his first single of 2017, ‘U Know Seh’, complete with visuals to match. Jayrich is behind the mesmerizing, marching, fast-paced beat that allows Bittz to spit rapidly in a patois style: “U know seh manna just stoosh, u know seh me wicked and bad, u know seh I bill it and smoke,” Blittz spits in for his hook with ‘Wicked & Bad’, referring to a track he released with Big Tobz last year which was an underground banger. His flow and style on this is definitely wicked and bad and shows how Blittz is in a lane of own.
This year, Reeko Squeeze has being working hard, dropping track after track. After his separation from infamous UK Rap crew Section Boyz last year, which left fans shocked and disappointed, he went on to drop his introductory mixtape Child’s Play as a solo artist. It proved he was strong on his own and made room for himself in his own lane, collaborating with artists such as Youngs Teflon and J Hus. His new track ‘Ring Ring’ takes on a production courtesy of Loadstar, bringing a different sound to the normal street bangers he goes for. We see him flowing effortlessly over an energetic instrumental, with a chorus that matches the vigor of the beat.

One of London’s hottest UK Rap crews have released another heavyweight track titled ‘Traumatised 2’. It features a haunting, ghostly, and sinister beat mixed with raw and gritty chronicles of the streets, their lives, and what they see around them. ‘Traumatised 2’ captures their authenticity, “Mans on trapping, man got skills, g money got gwop like Tesco tills, peng tings wanna lurk on Brixton Hill.” Their real bars, teamed with their original sound, have pushed them already into the limelight.
Sneakbo
South London rapper Sneakbo sprays bars all over his new Dancehall anthem, sampling a classic riddim ‘Bookshelf.’ Produced by iLL Blu and featuring the vocals of Nyla, Sneakbo has a surefire hit on his hands for the summer – ready to hit the clubs or be played whilst relaxing on the beach. This is his first release since being signed to Virgin EMI, and it’s clear nothing has changed with Sneakbo’s style; it’s full of energy and charisma. Sneakbo lays his bars down about a female: “10 out of 10 girl your looks are nice, get what I like I don’t watch the price / I woke up like you see tonight, I’m living life, living like I’m about to die.”
Wholagun
Wholagun drops one for the streets with his new track ‘I’m Sorry.’ He matches ice-cold bars with a flow that switches up and quickens. The South London rapper isn’t new to the game, and has an undeniable sound in the UK amongst other rappers, pairing minimalist beats with sharp bars. ‘I’m Sorry’ shows Wholagun telling us he’s about to mess up the game with his unruly, boisterous bars and feverish delivery: “Been looking hard and observing, if I go hard then it’s curtains, they got bars and they murking, but they ain’t like this in person,” talking about how other rappers lie in their bars and aren’t really like that. We wonder who he’s aiming that at?
Don Strapzy
Another artist straight out of South London, Don Strapzy has been putting in the work this year. dropping strings of videos and headlining a show at Birthdays in Dalston. ‘Write Off’ finds him going hard with a passionate and fiery delivery over a lively, upbeat production that should be turned up loud in your car or in the club. “I’m Donny and I’m all about the dolla, loyal to my family I’ll die for my honour.”

Beyoncé has been in London for her Formation world tour and along with dancing to Skepta and JME’s ‘That’s Not Me’ on Saturday night (July 2nd), she also brought out UK Rap crew Section Boyz for a support slot on July 3rd.
Section Boyz also have a new track out with Chris Brown, Wiz Kid and Hoody Baby titled ‘Shabba.’ It dropped on Chris Brown’s SoundCloud, and is the second time the crew have paired up with the R&B singer (the first being ‘Whippin’).
