Dave heads from Boomburger in London, to a plush house overlooking rolling hills in Beverly Hills for his new video ‘Tequila’. Produced by Fraser T Smith and 169, the track opens with a Spanish sounding guitar riff, and when the beat kicks in Dave takes control and begins to flow about women.
Chip ft. 67 – Honestly
Chip is getting fans excited for his forthcoming album ‘A League Of My Own 2’ by dropping the second visual from their titled ‘Honestly’. Produced by Canadian artist Tre Mission and featuring Brixton Hill Crew 67, the track seems totally organic and natural. The new material Chip is dropping shows how is having fun with his music, but also his maturity.
Faze Miyake ft. Reeko Squeeze & Capo Lee – Chase The Money
Faze Miyake has released one of the video’s off of his latest project ‘Infamous’. The producer lays down a hard, ominous trap beat, paving the way for South London’s Reeko Squeeze and North London’s Capo Lee to trade verses about money.
Tanika – Kingston 13
Tanika is back with the visuals to ‘Kingston 13’ taken from her forthcoming EP release ‘Birthdays In Jamaica’ with the material being written and recorded in Jamaica. This is a sexy, sultry one from the British singer who is seen in some shots with her man, changing her hair from blonde to pink.
J Fresh ft. Koder – Special Powers
Taken from his ‘Banana’ EP, J Fresh unleashes the video to ‘Special Powers’ featuring South London Grime emcee Koder. J Fresh provides the raw grime vibes on production, whilst Koder goes in vigorously on the verses before mellowing on the hook.
Not3s follows up his smash record ‘Addison Lee’ with this new one which sees him state that he’s ‘fly like Aladdin.’ He takes us round a destination abroad, full of sun, sea and yachts. Not3s has big things ahead of him and this track full of summer vibes is going to be spread like a wave.
Killa P, Last Japan – DEAD EM
Lyrical badman Killa P and producer Last Japan seem to make the perfect team with their latest track ‘Dead Em,’ that has a nostalgic grime feel taking us back to the early days, with Last Japans metallic synth production and Killa P’s fast pace, raw flow.
Dave – 100M’s
Dave is a versatile artist providing us with deep, thought provoking rap lyrics, but can also put his hand to grime proving this last year with ‘Thiago Silva’ with AJ Tracey. He is now back on his grime flex with 100M’s which sees him working in a local shop, to doing road with his friends. He spits about his hopes such as Grammys and having a plan in the game.
Artan – My Brudda
Artan hits us with a brand new visual ‘My Brudda’ taken from his recently released debut EP ‘Breaking Stereotypes’ which he dropped for free last week on Mixtape Madness – http://www.mixtapemadness.com/mixtape/artan/breaking-stereotypes-ep. ‘My Brudda’ mixes soulful lyrics and melodies with a slice of Hip Hop to give it a refreshing and unique sound.
Cadet ft. Konan – Instagram Girls
This is the one fans of Cadet have been waiting for…and it’s officially here! The video for ‘Instagram Girls’ has dropped featuring Konan on the hook. The lyricist speaks the bitter truth about social media with elegance hinted with playfulness. The underrated legend won’t stop here though as he is leading up to drop his EP ‘The Commitment 2,’ so stay tuned for more to come.
North West London rapper Nines who recently has signed a deal with XL Records has just released the track listing for his long-awaited album ‘One Foot Out’, and I couldn’t be happier having been a fan of Nines for years. He dropped the tracklisting on his Instagram, which included some hot features such as Akala, Tiggs Da Author and more.
Before this though Nines unleashed his first visual taken from the album and the first single ‘High Roller’ ft. J Hus. It gives a glimpse into the lives of the artists from where they have come from to where they are now and are headed; from riding behind the wheels of flash cars to estates and fancy flats and dark streets, and getting fitted for suits.
Clue – Game Over
Clue’s work rate is mad and second to none right now, as he keeps dropping video after video. The distinctive-voiced, South London rapper has a message for anyone going up against him this year, it will be ‘Game Over.’ This is another one for the streets and sees him going hard over a sinister beat produced by 5ive & Mazza, fitting his menacing lyrics perfectly, “Don’t watch me watch the man on your shoulder. Keep your name out my mouth like an ulcer.” Clue’s flow is now perfected and he’s ready to take the UK Rap world by charge with his rawness and ability to tell real life stories through his lyrics. His forthcoming E.P ‘Return Of The Ghost’ (out in May) will hopefully catapult him into success which he deserves.
SeeJay100 ft. TE DNESS – Pretty Girls
SeeJay100 has been making quite a name for himself in the UK Rap scene with his run of bangers and working with the likes of highly-rated MC’s such as Cadet, Big Tobz, Bonkaz and Stormzy. Now he joins forces with one of the hottest underground rappers of the moment TE DNESS for ‘Pretty Girls.’ It’s a sharp, infectious track coupled with a catchy hook, with the two rappers spitting their way through about their love for females. This is just the start of 2017 for Seejay100 though as he already has his new single to follow up this track with, and I believe that he will be marking a mark this year.
Dave & J Hus – Samantha
Both these artists are representing the underground scene tremendously right now, and this collaboration proves why they are the UK’s brightest artists about at the moment. ‘Samantha’ shows off Dave’s skills not only as a lyrical don, but also on the keys on this melodic track produced by Jae5. The introduction to the video changes from cups of tea, to books, lights, a church, and to an estate, leaving the aesthesis to contrast yet coincide at the same time. It’s a cocky track from Dave and J Hus, but why shouldn’t it be? Dave raps, “We sent your man to the shop, what do you mean? He ain’t ever made it rain, your man is a fraud, your boyfriend’s living a lie, you’re kind of like Rachel Zane.” He’s definitely mixing gentlemen with gangster.
A2 – Lowest Key
Taken from his ‘More Sleep 2’ EP out on Dec 16, A2 keeps things popping with his brand new visuals to ‘Lowest Key’ taking us on quite a trippy journey as we enter into his world. As you press play you move between a hotel room, a train journey and him walking at night with bright lights ahead. The track itself is mysterious and moody and this is reflected in the dark visuals. The vibe is laid-back and hazy and switches between A2 signing and rapping, “You say you’re into energies and planets, I’m still tryna find a balance, and you think the solar systems got the answers. I can rule the world it ain’t a challenge, trust me baby I can manage.” The lyrics like the video leave us in a kind of meditative, surreal state.
Dave & AJ Tracey are two of the best up and coming, young MC’s and joining forces together makes for one hot track. For the visuals they take it from Paris where footballer Thiago Silver plays for, to Ladbroke Grove where AJ Tracey’s from, to Streatham – Dave’s hometown. This see’s the two show of their lyrical skills as they go back to back on a Prince Rapid and 169 production.
Snowy – Fucked Up
Nottingham MC Snowy drops the visuals to a track off of his recently released ‘Knots’ EP. ‘Fucked Up’ talks through the trials and tribulations of his life over a melancholy, dark beat produced by Riddla. The visuals, beat and lyrics match each other perfectly and you can see it’s been well thought out, check it out below.
Raheem Bakare – Forever You
Raheem Bakare the soulful UK singer, takes us on a journey around London and Amsterdam for his new video for ‘Forever You.’ Raheem pays homage to the golden days of R&B, but brings a fresh innovative twist. He is one of the UK’s freshest, rawest and honest talents that is due to be huge. Let Raheem take you on a journey of a broken man, whose fate changes.
Coco ft. AJ Tracey & Nadia Rose – Big N Serious Remix
Three hot Grime MC’s link up for Coco’s ‘Big N Serious’ remix and now we have been gifted the visuals to match. With their 3 different styles and flows, they still all manage to murk the track whilst complementing each other. With Toddla T on production, this one is going to be a future classic riddim for sure.
D Power ft. Frisco & Lay-Z – Like Dem
D Power brings us cartoon visuals for his new track ‘Like Dem,’ which is the 2nd release from his forthcoming mixtape ‘Progress 3’ released 2nd June. The east London MC is joined by Boy Better Know’s Frisco and Lay-Z for this hard new track produced by Audio Slugs.
