Pixies Tracks of The Week

Snowy – Going On

Nottingham MC Snowy has just dropped the new visuals on JDZ Media for his single ‘Going On’ which was released in February on Mike Skinner LTD. The creative video shows Snowy in a video game setting riding around on a kart and jumping on boxes full of apples. Produced by Lamont, Snowy dives through a range of topics from peng tings to being on the mic, music money and more.

Mura Masa – All Around The World ft. 67 & Desiigner

Mura Masa shake things up on single ‘All Around The World’ with the original video being released in May. Now they’ve added 67 to the line up who put their distinctive stamp on the track with their trademark flows. The visuals see 67 travelling all around the world doing shows fitting the theme of the track perfectly.

Dizzee Rascal – Wot U Gonna Do

The anticipation for Dizzee Rascal’s new forthcoming album ‘Raskit’ is steadily building, and we saw him release the 2nd video from it ‘Wot U Gonna Do’. His new music sees Dizzee going back to his roots, and the visuals are kept simple and clean, showing him flickering between a glitchy/animated Dizzee and back to normal with red and black backgrounds. The lyrics show Dizzee questioning and talking about himself, listen and enjoy!

C Cane – Bad To Da Bone

Rapper, singer and songwriter C Cane releases a banger of a track ‘Bad To Da Bone’ which sees her provide sweet, melodic vocals throughout the hook and lay down feisty lyrics on the verses with her trademark flow, providing us an insight into the music industry where she describes a lack of loyalty and respect.

Shystie – Wake Up

Shystie has burst back onto the scene with ‘Wake Up’ a heavy D&B track that has already begun to turn heads. It’s already been Record Of The Week on 1Xtra after Mistajam took the premiere. The powerful, cinematic visuals show modern day slavery and human trafficking, something Shystie feels strongly about. Shystie provides sweet, soul filled vocals over a tropical beat.

Pixies Tracks Of The Week @A2artist @OfficialCCane @RayBLK_ @UncleMez @JusRival

A2 – Prototype

A2 drops a heavy new track titled ‘Prototype’ sampling Andre 300 for this, but giving it his own take. With components of funk and soul, the South Londoner drops some intelligent and witty bars. Now signed to Disturbing London, he will be releasing his highly anticipated ‘Blue’ project this Summer too, we can’t wait to hear that.

C Cane – My Team ft. Scrufizzer, Izzie Gibbs & Zeph Ellis

North London rapper C Cane is joined by some wicked Grime spitters who drop hot bars over a FGM beat. C Cane provides the hook and the first verse, with Scrufizzer jumping in next, then to Izzie and Zeph Ellis who unfortunately does not feature in the video. These 4 together make for a big tune!

Ray BLK ft. Stormzy – My Hood

This one is for the South Londoner’s who will fully be able to relate to Ray BLK’s new one ‘My Hood,’ as she explores the relationship between herself and her neighbourhood.

“This track is an ode to where I’m from, It’s a bittersweet song about home. South East is one of the roughest places in London but it rears the strongest people because of that and that’s what makes us special.’ explains RAY BLK. The tracks features Grime heavy-weight Stormzy who is also from South London.

Uncle Mez – Ghetts Spirit

Nottingham Grime MC Uncle Mez goes hard in his new track ‘Ghetts’ Spirit,’ an ode to one of Grime’s hardest; Ghetts. He really channels the essence of Ghetts’ as he spits with such passion and fierceness over a boisterous Deeco produced beat. Mez is putting out a lot of heat and is one to watch out for as he continues to keep rising.

Rival – Portrait Of The Underclass Intro

East London Grime MC Rival is due to drop his highly anticipated album ‘Portrait Of The Underclass’ on May 27th. He gives us an insight of what to expect with the intro to the album. We enter hearing a beautifully arranged live band instrumental with blues influences as Josh Bevan gives us the vocals. It then goes into a Grime instrumental produced by Rynsaman, as Rival takes us through a biopic journey of some of his life.

One To Watch: C Cane (@OfficialCCane)

ccane

C Cane is an MC from North London, Enfield that is about to cause some serious waves in the scene. Not only can she rap, she can sing, play the drums, piano and the guitar. She’s been in the studio recently with the New Money Recording team and has gone from putting out some sick freestyles to now laying down and recording tracks in the booth and releasing visuals such as ‘Whos Dat’. She’s worked incredibly hard the past few years, doing as many live shows as she can and building the foundations to become a recognised, serious and talented artist. As a lyricist she has some serious bars and can go from a skippy, fast flow to switching it to a more relaxed one. Check out ‘Just Cool Nah’ her recent collaboration with DJ Cameo, Scrufizzer, Saskilla, Drifter & Lil Nasty.
